Bernadette L. Peters was born Bernadette. Lazzara in Ozone Park Queens New York 28 February 1948 is a singer/songwriter, as well as a writer of children's books. Bernadette Peters has over her career of five decades, appeared in films, TV shows and in solo performances. She's won seven Tony Awards nominations, two of which she won, and eight Drama Desk Awards. Four of the Broadway cast albums on which she's performed have won Grammy Awards. Peters began her acting career on stage in 1960s as young people, but she went on to work during the 1970s she appeared on television and film. She was known for her stage debuts and also for her TV appearances, including The Carol Burnett Show The Muppet Show as well as Annie. The year was 1980 when she started to make a return to Broadway and became one the biggest stars of this stage for the next three decades. The singer has also released a variety of individual albums, cast albums as well as singles. She performs in solo concerts
