Bernadette L. Peters was born Bernadette. Lazzara, born in Ozone Park Queens New York on 28 February 1948 is a singer/songwriter and the author of children's book. She has for the past five decades starred in films, TV shows as well as solo shows. She was nominated and won 3 Drama Desk Awards. She has won Grammy Awards for four of her Broadway recordings of cast. Peters began her career in the theatre in her early years, then as a teenage actor in the 1960s as well as in films and on television during the 1970s. In addition to her work on The Muppet Show, The Carol Burnett Show, and on other television shows, she was also praised for her roles she had performed in Annie and Silent Movie. The 1980s saw her return to the theatre where she became one of the most well-known Broadway actors over the next three years.
